Amsterdam Photography Workshops:
Master the Lowland Light

I’ll Teach You to See Amsterdam’s Light, Architecture, and Action Differently

Learn to See Beyond the Postcard

A Masterclass in Visual Storytelling

No prior experience or professional gear required. We start exactly where you are. More than a tour; a transformation. These private, mobile masterclasses move beyond settings to intention. Regardless of your level of experience, I will help you turn abstract photography concepts into internalized skills you will use for a lifetime.

  • Intimate: Exclusively for you or your private group (max 4).

  • Curated for You: Customized exactly for you and your creative goals. No canned curriculum or tired tour routes.

  • Unique: No cookie-cutter or canned tours. Every location is curated to make the most of the season, weather, and your time.

  • Lasting Mindset: You won’t just leave with photos worth sharing; you’ll leave the skills to make wall-worthy photos wherever you go.

The Three Levels of Mentorship:
Find Your Fit

  • Stepping Out of the Noise and Into the Narrative

The most difficult part of creating in a city like Amsterdam isn't finding something to capture—it's learning how to ignore everything else. This level is specifically designed for the Engaged Beginner: someone who wants to move past "taking snapshots" and start making intentional art.

This session is for you if:

    • You find the city’s movement overwhelming and don't know where to point your lens or pen.

    • You want to move beyond "Automatic Mode" but don't know which technical settings actually matter.

    • You are looking for a quiet, supportive environment to practice the basic building blocks of composition.

    The Focus-First Curriculum:

Selective Seeing: We practice isolating single subjects—a lone cyclist, a specific gable, or a reflection—to create a clear visual story.

Technical Essentials: I strip away the jargon. We focus only on the 2–3 settings that give you immediate creative control over your image or sketch.

The Physics of Light: Learn to identify "good light" and how to use the high-contrast shadows of the canal houses to your advantage.

    No Gear Pressure:

You do not need a professional camera or a studio-grade kit to begin. Whether you are using a smartphone, a beginner DSLR, or a travel sketchbook, the goal of Level 1 is to sharpen your eye. The gear is just the tool; the vision is yours.

  • Creative expression, Composition Refinement

“I know the basics, but I struggle to apply them creatively in the field.”

The Focus: Composition for Storytelling For those comfortable with manual settings but whose images still feel "flat." This session is about depth—learning to use composition as a language to tell more impactful stories. We focus on scouting for narrative potential before you even raise the camera to your eye.

    • The Mastery: Dive into advanced spatial awareness—finding leading lines, utilizing negative space, and mastering atmospheric depth.

    • The Outcome: Move beyond the "pretty picture." You will learn how to structure an image so it communicates a specific mood or message.

    • The Goal: Master a universal artistic language that will instantly elevate your work in any location globally.

      BOOK A LEVEL TWO MENTORSHIP

  • Portfolio Development, Signature Style, Advanced Techniques

“I want to elevate my creative vision and find my unique voice.”

The Focus: Portfolio & Personal Voice For the experienced creator who has mastered the craft but is seeking a "visual signature." This is a collaborative, high-level mentorship session designed to transition you from taking high-quality images to creating a cohesive, powerful body of work.

    • The Mastery: A deep-dive into situational shooting—tackling challenging light and dynamic urban scenes—combined with a review of my professional editing workflow to match your final output to your original intent.

    • The Outcome: A critical, targeted review of your portfolio and a clear roadmap for developing your own consistent photographic style.

    • The Goal: To bridge the gap between "good photography" and a distinctive, professional-level artistic identity.
